This classification entitles these communities more money from the state for the development of regional tourism. In addition, the municipality gains the right to add the title of seaside resort to its name, a word used both in the official municipal file and in state references.

Lázaro Beach is the kind of beach that appeals to both those looking for excitement and those looking for peace and quiet. The long stretch of sand, 1.5 km long, has distinct characteristics, with the left corner taken over by kiosks with music, snacks and cold beer, and the right corner surrounded by houses right on the sand and no stalls.
